JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of senior attorney experience and 7 to 10 years of experience since passing the bar. The Senior Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing complex litigation matters, overseeing a team of associates and paralegals, and representing clients in various stages of litigation. While experience in construction and real estate law is not required, it is considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring the timely and effective progression of each matter from inception to resolution.
  • Draft, review, and file motions, pleadings, notices, discovery requests, and responses in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to associate attorneys and paralegals, ensuring high-quality work and resolution of complex legal issues.
  • Attend and represent clients at court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Effectively argue motions and other legal matters before judges and tribunals.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for each case, anticipating challenges, and adjusting approaches as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes, case law, and applicable rules of procedure to advise clients and colleagues.
  • Oversee preparation for trials, including witness preparation, evidence organization, and the development of trial strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate, balancing legal risks with client objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular case updates and offering sound legal advice to help them achieve their objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Current and active license to practice law in California.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior attorney in a litigation practice.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience since passing the bar.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in handling complex litigation matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficient in legal research and using legal databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
