The Senior Manager, Scientific Materials and Alignment is a key contributor in developing external content to communicate and disseminate Ascendis Pharma’s clinical data, real‑world evidence, and disease‑state information to healthcare professionals. The role ensures materials are medically accurate, fair‑balanced, and aligned with Ascendis’s scientific strategy. The position reports to the Associate Director, Global Scientific Materials and Alignment and is a hybrid role based in Princeton, NJ. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate a deep understanding of therapeutic areas and expertise with aligned products in endocrine rare diseases, including hypoparathyroidism, achondroplasia, and other therapeutic areas in development Develop innovative and engaging scientific content for use in external scientific exchange, including but not limited to slide decks, infographics, interactive PDFs, animations, video abstracts, and podcasts As a subject matter expert, research and develop content that is scientifically accurate, evidence‑based, strategic, grammatically correct, referenced using appropriate sources, and consistent with quality and regulatory standards Provide guidance for the appropriate use of scientific evidence and aligned messaging in materials created by internal cross‑functional stakeholders or external partners Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Clinical Development, local Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Corporate Communications, Competitive Intelligence, and other groups to ensure successful execution of high‑impact medical materials and messaging that aligns with Ascendis strategy Stay abreast of up‑to‑date information on clinical data relevant to Ascendis programs, the competitive landscape, new therapies, clinical trends, and newly issued regulatory laws and guidance to promptly identify possible impact to scientific materials and strategic messages Requirements Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PhD/PharmD/MD/MSN) required Minimum 3 years of industry experience in Medical Communications or Medical Affairs, or as part of a Medical Communications agency required; 5–7 years is preferred Strong organizational skills and a solid proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, BioRender, and/or other programs used for illustrations, animations, graphics, and video editing preferred Expertise in Medical Communications projects including field medical team resources, advisory boards, congress/publication plans, conference symposia, and disease‑state education programs Comprehensive understanding of brand identity, editorial design, information graphics and data visualization, with experience developing engaging digital and web content, preferred Clearly communicate medical and scientific concepts in a concise, audience‑appropriate way Keen analytical skills, especially involving scientific and clinical data Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment Ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions and geographies Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment A high level of initiative and self‑motivation Experience in rare disease or endocrinology preferred, but not required Benefits 401(k) plan with company match Medical, dental, and vision plans Company‑offered Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance Company‑provided short and long‑term disability benefits Unique offerings of Pet Insurance and Legal Insurance Employee Assistance Program Employee Discounts Professional Development Health Saving Account (HSA) Flexible Spending Accounts Various incentive compensation plans Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity Insurance Mental Health resources Paid leave benefits for new parents Estimated salary range: $175–$190K.
