Senior Manager of Quality Control

Client is a growing full-service CPA firm with offices in New York City, New Jersey, Long Island, Maryland, White Plains, and California, is seeking a Senior Manager of Quality Control for our Ocean, NJ office. We cultivate unique relationships with each client, accommodating specific needs and providing personal attention, recognition, and respect.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison to the Director of Quality Control, assisting the audit team in various areas where QC reviews are not performed.
  • Perform quality control reviews for our audit and review practices across various industries, including broker-dealers, not-for-profit, SEC filers, manufacturers, real estate, and hedge funds.
  • Assist with the peer review process and manage any PCAOB inspections.
  • Help update and maintain our quality control manual, ensuring compliance with PCAOB, SEC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the firm's annual independence process.
  • Monitor continuing professional education (CPE) compliance for the entire firm.
  • Contribute to the development and facilitation of training programs for staff (CPE).
  • Support the annual registration process with the AICPA, PCAOB, NJCPA, and other state registrations/renewals as needed.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on quality control policies and procedures for engagements not directly reviewed.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Minimum of 8 years of public accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in quality control.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB and quality control standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with partners and senior management.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinker with a solution-oriented mindset.
