Your new companyYou will be joining a long‑established, family‑owned organization operating across construction, real estate development, and property management, with over 100 years of history and a strong, relationship‑driven culture. As the business continues to grow rapidly, it is now investing in its HR function with the creation of its first dedicated HR role.Your new roleYou will take ownership of HR operations, partnering closely with Finance, including an established in‑house payroll team, as well as leadership to support a workforce of approximately 100 non‑union and 30 union employees. The role covers payroll administration (oversight, not processing), benefits, onboarding, leave management, and HR compliance, ensuring accuracy and consistency across union and non‑union environments. You will act as the primary HR contact for employee queries relating to pay and benefits while maintaining accurate HR data and supporting a smooth, well‑run HR operation. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership and visibility, well suited to someone who enjoys an operational environment rather than a broad HR leadership remit, with scope for the position to grow as the business continues to expand.What you will need to succeed10–12+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong HR operations and benefits focus Experience in both union and non‑union environments is essential Comfortable partnering closely with Finance or Accounting leadership Construction or industrial sector experience is advantageous Confident, credible, and able to operate effectively within a long‑tenured workforce Willing and able to work onsite five days per week in Elmont, Long Island, NYWhat you will get in returnYou’ll be joining a stable, well‑respected, family‑run business with a strong, relationship‑driven culture, minimal turnover, and real scope for long‑term career growth as the organization continues to expand.
