Backed by top-tier investors and a multi-year government contract, we are growing our founding team to help achieve key milestones.

We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our marine function. The ideal candidate has a background with subsea engineering and the ability to handle both hands on engineering work while leading a small team of mechanical engineers. This is a highly important and visible role that will lead the development of technologies that will be used in the deployment, operation and retrieval of our modular hydropower technology, and peripheral systems.

Requirements

Must Have

  • BS or greater in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience with marine or hydrokinetic systems, components, or technologies
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable relying on strong first-principles engineering skill.
  • Experience using CAD Software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar.
  • Proficient with 3D solid modeling with the ability to produce and review mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with Matlab, LabView, MathCAD or similar applications.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical experience with Finite Element Analysis applications.
  • US Citizenship required

Nice to Have

  • Comfortable working with outside vendors and clients.
  • Hands-on practical experience working in a shop or laboratory environment.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability (high/low volume).
  • Program related technical writing reporting.
  • CAD surface modeling.
  • Marine and/or UUV experience

  • Lead the mechanical and subsea systems development
  • Program Reporting
  • Manage multiple programs
