Key Responsibilities
1. HVAC and Plumbing Design:
- Oversee design, calculations, and specifications for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Review and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for complex mechanical systems.
2. Project Management:
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, from initial concept to final completion.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and contractors.
3. Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor project teams comprising designers and junior engineers.
- Conduct quality reviews of designs and documents to ensure project excellence.
- Drive innovation by staying updated on industry trends and sustainable practices.
4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary client liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Participate in client presentations, project updates, and proposal discussions.
- Support business development efforts to secure repeat and new clients.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical building systems, with expertise in HVAC and plumbing.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring project teams.
- Exceptional project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
- Extensive experience with healthcare or educational building projects.
- Advanced knowledge of building codes, standards, and HVAC system regulations.
- Proficiency in design tools like AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, or TRACE.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy modeling is a plus.
