NOTE: This is a Fulltime/Direct Hire Position with a Salary of $130,000


One of our clients in Hawthorne, Los Angeles is looking for a Senior Network Engineer with the following skills and experience:


Looking for a Senior Network Engineer role to design, implement, and ensure the stability and integrity of equipment used to provide the data transmissions network required to enable the service provisioned by the customer while ensuring the continuous improvement of these services using industry best practices. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. Work both independently and on a team on the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. Analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.



Top 3-4 Technical Skills:



  1. Experience in networking and network security, including VPNs, enterprise routing, and L3-7 switching.

  2. Technical knowledge of monitoring systems (Orion, Vcenter), network equipment (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.), and servers (Rac, Blade), Hyper-V, VMWare, Windows Server, SQL Server, Storage (NetApp, EMC, HP, etc.), Ceph, Active Directory.

  3. Proven experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.

  4. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as IP subnets, bandwidth, load, capacity, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required. Certifications plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in networking and network security including VPNs, enterprise routing, and L3-7 switching desired.

  • Technical knowledge of monitoring systems (Orion, Vcenter), network equipment (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.), servers (Rac, Blade), Hyper-V, VMWare, Windows Server, SQL Server, storage (NetApp, EMC, HP, etc.), Ceph, Active Directory. AWS cloud experience desirable.

  • 5+ years in enterprise network design and implementation, firewall/switch technologies, QoS design, and implementation a plus.

  • Prior experience with LINUX-based operating systems desired.

  • Experience in SAAS product environments.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as IP subnets, bandwidth, load, capacity, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.

  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.

  • Good hands-on technical knowledge of network hardware and operating systems, including Cisco routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls and switches, and VPN concentrators.

  • Good technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including IPv6.

  • Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

  • Support experience with sniffers, network analyzers, line toners, and network statistics and reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws including PCI and SOX.

  • Able to work on-call as required.

  • Able to travel/drive to multiple locations if necessary.
