Role Summary
Network Engineer who will be responsible for design, implementation, and support of network technologies across the Sompo global landscape with a high degree of focus on security and next generation connectivity. The individual will also provide on-going day to day tier 3 support for the global data network in response to related support tasks and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and deploy LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
Responsible for 3rd level troubleshooting for all LAN/WAN alerts and issues.
Responsible for maintenance of all monitoring and reporting systems.
Produce and maintain documentation related to all systems developed/deployed.
Perform on-call duty for non-business hours support as per shift assignments.
Perform administrative tasks pertaining to time entry and status reporting.
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Open for 24x7 availability.
Conduct technical trainings to internal resources.
