Senior Network Security EngineerLocation: Brussels | Global Environment | Mission-Critical InfrastructureWe are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to take ownership of a large-scale, high-availability firewall environment supporting critical global operations. This is a key technical leadership role, ideal for someone passionate about building resilient, automated, and secure network infrastructures at scale.Your RoleAs a senior member of the network security team, you will design, operate, and evolve a complexenterprise firewall platform with a strict zero-downtime mindset.Key responsibilities include:Designing and managing high-availability firewall environments in productionLeading firewall upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle operations with minimal or no downtimeWorking across advanced firewall architectures (e.g. clustered and distributed deployments)Integrating firewall infrastructure with enterprise routing (OSPF, BGP)Driving automation initiatives using tools like AnsibleDesigning and implementing network segmentation strategies to strengthen security postureEnsuring alignment with security frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIS2)Building and maintaining monitoring and observability solutionsMaintaining accurate and automated network documentation and IPAMTroubleshooting complex issues across distributed, large-scale environmentsProviding technical leadership and architectural guidanceMust-Have Requirements5–10+ years of experience in network security engineeringStrong experience with enterprise firewall platforms (Check Point or equivalent vendors)Proven track record managing high-availability environmentsExperience performing firewall migrations and upgrades in production environmentsSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)Hands-on experience with OSPF and BGPExperience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible or similar)Strong troubleshooting skills across network and security domainsExperience in large-scale or distributed infrastructuresFamiliarity with security standards/frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 or similar)Ability to work independently and provide technical leadershipNative/Fluent in Dutch and EnglishNice-to-HaveDeep expertise with Check Point technologies.Experience delivering zero-downtime transformations in critical environmentsExperience with infrastructure automation at scaleFamiliarity with monitoring toolsExperience with IPAM/DCIM toolsKnowledge of NIS2 or EU regulatory frameworksRelevant certifications (e.g. Check Point, CISSP, CCNP/CCIE Security)Experience mentoring or acting as a technical leadBackground in high-availability or regulated industriesIf you’re ready to take ownership of a critical security platform and drive innovation in a complex global environment, we’d love to hear from you.Apply now or reach out directly for more information.
