Job description
We are hiring a Senior Real Estate Paralegal for our direct client on a full-time, direct hire basis. This role involves supporting advanced real estate transactions and projects, requiring exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work independently under tight deadlines, and strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing land use applications, including zoning board submissions, site plan approvals, and variance requests. Conduct research on land use regulations and zoning ordinances to support case strategies.
- Support the application process for tax abatements and financial incentive programs, including researching tax laws and preparing necessary documentation.
- Assist attorneys in commercial real estate transactions, including lease negotiations, purchase agreements, and financing documentation. Conduct due diligence activities such as title and lien searches and property inspections.
- Manage all phases of real estate transactions, including coordinating closings, reviewing title insurance commitments, resolving title issues, and finalizing title policies.
- Draft and review documents for real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, leases, deeds, escrow instructions, and contracts. Prepare and review surveys, title commitments, and exception documents.
- Conduct legal due diligence, analyzing zoning ordinances, statutes, and land use regulations. Prepare applications for zoning variances, special use permits, and rezoning requests.
- Liaise with clients, title companies, surveyors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate completion of transactions.
- Provide general assistance to attorneys, including drafting correspondence, organizing materials for public hearings, and monitoring legislative changes in real estate and land use law.
- Maintain comprehensive transaction checklists, organize files, and track key project milestones to ensure proper filing and recording.
- Mentor junior paralegals and support staff, sharing best practices and ensuring quality standards for complex transactions.
- Utilize software tools like Microsoft Office, Adobe, DocuSign, and specialized real estate software to streamline document preparation, communication, and transaction management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is required.
- Minimum of 7 10 years of experience as a real estate paralegal, handling complex commercial and multi-state transactions.
- Experience in title, survey, and zoning review is essential.
- Minimum billable hour requirement: 1,500 hours per year.
