JOB OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT SENIOR PLANNER
The Lake Champlain Lake George Regional Planning Board (LCLGRPB) is seeking a full-time Senior
Planner. Office is in Lake George, NY but job encompasses coordination with and travel throughout
Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Warren, and Washington Counties. This is a professional planning position responsible for the development and coordination of various community development projects and programs, including comprehensive plans, main street reinvestment plans, regional workforce housing planning and local and regional recreational planning.
The successful candidate must be able to author and manage federal and state grant programs and have strong writing, data analysis, communication, fiscal management, and computer skills. Must be able to work independently and cultivate and maintain working relationships with various entities. Work will include a significant amount of public engagement and consensus building.
SALARY: $58,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(A) Master's degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, environmental studies, natural resources or related field and 2 years of satisfactory experience in municipal, community, or regional planning; or
(B) Bachelors degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, environmental studies, natural resources or related field and 3 years of satisfactory experience in municipal, community, or regional planning.
This position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made
with an examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for
appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
