Full-time position available with the Water Department, Water Supply & Treatment Plant Division located at 1 NW Briarcliff Rd
Salary Range: $23.98-$36.60/Hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Shift Varies

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties in the day to day operations of a multi million gallon water treatment plant and its pumping facilities.
  • Participates in sampling, process control testing, checking equipment, operating valves.
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment and the treatment process.
  • Uses a SCADA system to operate and monitor remote pumping facilities to maintain PSI, flows and storage levels.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, up to date operational records.
  • Assists the shift Supervisor in training Plant Operators.
  • Performs others duties as assigned.

Qualifications


REQUIRES high school graduation and possession of a B-level operator certification in water/wastewater issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Must possess a valid State-issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
