Position Overview:


Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a Senior Process Controls Engineer to provide engineering support within manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on automation and process control systems. This role supports a wide range of processing systems including fluid milk receiving, separation, blending, batching, pasteurization, evaporators, dryers, CIP, packaging, and product storage systems.


The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in fluid and batch processing automation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all food safety and quality requirements are met per plant and departmental procedures
  • Provide engineering support for all plant processes and participate in process effectiveness reviews
  • Maintain SQL traceability software; analyze data, identify trends, and make process improvement recommendations
  • Perform data analysis and trending using Historian systems
  • Support training initiatives for plant employees as needed
  • Troubleshoot process issues and ensure synchronization between control programming and mechanical operations
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance
  • Design, create, and modify operator interface (HMI) screens
  • Work cross-functionally with management to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, PMO, FDA, MIOSHA, IOSHA, OSHA, and MMPA requirements
  • Monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, and material loss
  • Participate in problem-solving teams and project installations
  • Document, track, and communicate system changes; train personnel on new or modified functionality
  • Maintain ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging technologies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management


Safety Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Support and enforce workplace safety programs and hold teams accountable for safe work practices


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of technical support experience in a manufacturing environment (food or dairy preferred)
  • Strong background in process control engineering and automation systems
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial control logic
  • Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs (SLC, CompactLogix, ControlLogix)
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms including RSLogix, FactoryTalk, FTView SE/ME, and FTHistorian
  • Familiarity with Wonderware Intouch and Wonderware Historian
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio, and AutoCAD LT
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and process drawings
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as Fluke multimeters and HART communicators
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred


Required Skills (Must-Haves):

  • Process control engineering experience
