Company: Black & Veatch Date: Jun 25, 2026 Location: Virginia Beach, VA; Charlotte, NC; Cary, NC; Winston‑Salem, NC Opportunity Senior Project Engineering Manager (Water & Wastewater) – Full‑time, Staff. Relocation eligible: Yes. Visa sponsorship: No. Key Responsibilities Lead multi‑disciplinary teams of engineers and technicians on municipal and complex projects. Supervise and mentor engineering staff, identifying growth opportunities. Manage project budgets, schedules and client correspondence. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects. Conduct research and recommend equipment and materials. Oversee collection of data and manage engineering work. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, quality requirements across disciplines. Lead production teams and coordinate multiple discipline activities. Establish work plans for project execution. Identify client interests, communicate concerns, and develop solutions. Provide support for business development and pursuit activities. Manage project changes directly with client. Serve as technical leader for complex water and wastewater treatment projects. Review lower level engineering work. Hire, mentor, perform performance management and pay administration of personnel. Preferred Qualifications PE license. Previous engineering consulting experience. Experience in executing complex multi‑discipline WTP and WWTP upgrades and expansion projects. Minimum Qualifications Engineering bachelor’s degree from an accredited program. Minimum 11 years related work experience. Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.). Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment. Prolonged sitting, standing and computer usage.
