How You'll Make an Impact As a Senior Revenue Accountant at Strata, you'll own critical revenue and accounts receivable processes for a rapidly growing financial technology company. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll combine technical accounting expertise with analytical rigor to ensure revenue is recognized accurately under ASC 606, reconciliations remain accurate, and our financial close stays efficient as the business scales. Your work directly supports month‑end close, audit readiness, and business decision‑making across Finance, Sales, and Operations. Why This Role Matters at Strata Strata is a growth phase, which means our financial close speed, data accuracy, and revenue recognition rigor directly enable M&A strategy, financial reporting, and operational decisions. This role is the backbone of that—you'll see the direct impact of your work within weeks. Core Responsibilities Revenue & Contract Accounting Evaluate customer contracts and collaborate with Sales to ensure Salesforce opportunities map accurately to company revenue recognition policy and ASC 606 requirements Prepare and maintain contract deferred revenue schedules, as well as commission accounting and performance obligation tracking Record revenue‑related journal entries and resolve revenue recognition inquiries from internal stakeholders Build financial analysis and support materials for revenue audits and accounting reviews General Ledger & Month‑End Close Own reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, particularly accounts receivable, contract assets, deferred revenue, and related accruals Prepare and maintain recurring journal entries; coordinate month‑end close timeline and deliverables Prepare revenue‑related disclosures for financial reporting Support year‑end close acceleration and audit readiness efforts, including documentation compilation and automation projects Systems & Data Integrity Validate Salesforce‑to‑NetSuite revenue workflows; elevate system issues and recommend process improvements Review revenue arrangements in NetSuite and compare to revenue arrangements to ensure proper revenue recognition within NetSuite Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Enterprise Applications on system automation and integration work Support Sales Ops on subscription billing, contract interpretation, and revenue cycle questions Work with Growth and Payroll on commission work Contribute to special projects and ad‑hoc analysis as assigned What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment with demonstrable expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition or contract accounting Solid foundation in GAAP and comfort with balance sheet accounting (AR, deferred revenue, accruals) Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with AI tools Hands‑on experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar enterprise systems; comfort learning new tools quickly CPA license, preferred Track record of spotting inefficiencies and recommending process improvements Experience in SaaS revenue recognition (subscriptions, multi‑year contracts, usage‑based billing) Experience working in a SOX environment Estimated Salary Range $70,000 - $90,000. Actual salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set and level of experience. This salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Strata also provides discretionary variable pay programs based on role.
