Our client, a leader in automotive parts importing and distribution, is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be part of the Finance Department supporting the Accounting and FP&A teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Senior Revenue Accountant Location: Oak Brook, IL Pay Range: $120,000 - $125,000 What's the Job? Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, ensuring accurate recognition and classification of all revenue transactions. Oversee the preparation of journal entries related to revenue recognition, ensuring accurate accounting for deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and revenue adjustments. Collaborate with FP&A to analyze and explain sales variances between actuals and budget, providing insightful analysis and actionable recommendations. Manage the reconciliation of revenue and receivable accounts between IBS (AS400) and Oracle GL, ensuring timely and accurate transfer of data. Support the preparation of audit schedules related to revenue transactions and assist with both internal and external audit requests. What's Needed? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred). 3-5 years of distribution or manufacturing experience in revenue recognition, with experience in ASC 606 and related accounting principles. Experience with financial systems such as Oracle GL and IBS (AS400) or similar platforms. Proven experience in working closely with FP&A teams, specifically around revenue forecasting and variance analysis. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex reconciliations in multi-system environments. What's in it for me?
