Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 10+ years experience in IT roles. 8+ years of SharePoint development experience. 5+ years of SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 experience. Job Objective The purpose of this requirement is to support CDC in its effort to gather and analyze data from longitudinal pregnant people and infant surveillance and Birth Defects surveillance/registry systems, as well as provide services to support CDC activities related to neonatal abstinence syndrome to make use of existing state bio surveillance and other surveillance tools to improve voluntary, de‑identified prenatal and newborn health data. Data may include opioid‑related information before and during pregnancy to reduce risks associated with neonatal abstinence syndrome and optimize care. Responsibilities Serve as technical lead for SharePoint, Power Platform, and related Microsoft technologies, establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks, development best practices, and application lifecycle management (ALM) processes. Develop, customize, and implement Division or Center‑level SharePoint business applications with scalability to other CDC organizations. Provide technical expertise with extensive knowledge of process, software product, and/or specific technology. Plan and develop custom designed SharePoint sites and Power Apps. Integrate SharePoint systems with other agency systems. Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating Center outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. Facilitate and occasionally lead requirements gathering sessions, defining and documenting requirements, including validating requirements with stakeholders. Generate design specifications for software development, translating business needs into detailed algorithms for coding. Perform system design, analysis, and engineering tasks related to major enterprise system development and integration. Design, create, and maintain Division and Center‑level internal and external‑facing SharePoint sites and Power Apps using both custom coded and out‑of‑the‑box document management, workflow, and collaboration functions. Serve as site/sub‑site administrator for Division and Center‑level Power Platform and SharePoint sites. Provide advice, technical consultation and guidance to customers by analyzing and resolving problems and evaluating alternative means of satisfying user requirements.
