Site Engineer – Kent – £350/day (Outside IR35)A leading UK contractor specialising in groundworks, infrastructure, and civil engineering is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support major projects across Kent and Suffolk. This role is well suited to a self‑motivated, technically strong engineer who can take ownership of site delivery, quality control and accurate setting out.Role OverviewReporting to the Contracts Manager or Managing Engineer, you will provide precise setting out, technical guidance and construction support across multiple civils packages. Projects include roads, drainage, earthworks, RC ground beams, pile caps, utilities and general infrastructure. The position requires a strong balance of technical capability, communication skills and leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesSetting out using Leica TS16, GPS and other relevant surveying equipmentProducing topographical surveys, as-built drawings and accurate site dataPreparing and maintaining QA documentation, including ITPs, RFIs and CVIsMonitoring site progress, ensuring works are completed to specificationProviding engineering support and guidance to site teamsManaging technical queries and design issuesEnsuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standardsLiaising with subcontractors, supervisors and senior managementRequired Experience & QualificationsMinimum 10 years’ experience in civil engineering/site engineeringStrong background in groundworks, drainage and highwaysProficient in AutoCAD and ideally Civils 3DExperienced with Leica Total Stations (TS16 essential)SSSTS or SMSTS, and valid CSCS cardDegree in Civil Engineering or equivalentFull UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UKWhat’s Offered£350/day (Outside IR35)Ongoing pipeline of groundworks and infrastructure projectsOpportunity to lead technically challenging civil engineering worksSupportive environment with a collaborative project teamIf you are an experienced Site Engineer seeking your next freelance assignment, please get in touch.
