The Team On the Real Time Operations (RTO) team, we’re building the next generation of edge computing and live video technology for mission‑critical operations. Through Fusus, we unify live video, sensor data, and alerts into a single operational platform that helps first responders and security professionals make faster, better decisions. Our team builds the high‑performance video streaming technology that powers Axon Body cameras and Fusus edge devices, solving challenging problems across embedded systems, networking, media processing, and cloud services. Your Impact Build the native software behind real‑time video streaming for Axon Body cameras and Fusus edge devices. You’ll develop high‑performance systems software that delivers reliable, low‑latency video from edge devices to cloud services, solving challenging problems in media processing, networking, performance, and reliability. Your work will help first responders access live video when it matters most. What You’ll Do Location: This role is based out of our Seattle office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in‑person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. Reports to: Senior Software Engineering Manager Build modern C++ and Rust software that powers real‑time video streaming on Axon Body cameras and Fusus edge devices. Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of native streaming services. Design native APIs and SDKs that enable seamless integration across edge, mobile, and cloud platforms. Collaborate with engineers across embedded software, cloud, and machine learning to deliver new streaming capabilities. Help shape the architecture and technical direction of Axon’s native streaming platform. Lead technical design discussions and mentor teammates through thoughtful code reviews. What You Bring Required Professional experience building production software in modern C++ or Rust. Experience designing, debugging, and optimizing native systems software. Strong understanding of concurrency, performance, and software design fundamentals. Comfortable collaborating across multiple layers of the software stack.
