Senior Software Engineer (C++ & DOORS)

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Embedded Aerospace Software (Onsite) Location: Fort Worth, TX (Onsite) Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Potential Extension) Schedule: 1st Shift | 4/10 Work Week (Monday Thursday) Pay Rate: $75 $100/hr on W2 (DOE) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing aerospace software development team supporting mission‑critical airborne systems. This role involves leading the design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software for advanced aircraft platforms while collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical direction of embedded software development initiatives. Develop engineering estimates (BOEs) for new software features and enhancements. Collaborate with program management and engineering leadership to ensure successful project execution. Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software using C/C++. Participate in software architecture, requirements analysis, implementation, verification, and validation. Support Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) integration, simulation, and testing activities. Perform requirement‑based testing, unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting. Maintain technical documentation and configuration management. Utilize requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or similar platforms. Work within an Agile software development environment. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret Security Clearance required. Strong expertise in C++ and/or C programming. Experience developing embedded real‑time software for aerospace, defense, or safety‑critical systems. Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools. Strong understanding of DO-178B/DO-178C software development processes. Experience with Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) environments. Experience with Requirement‑Based Testing (RVT) and Unit Testing. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting legacy aircraft or avionics software. Knowledge of aircraft software architecture and embedded mission systems. Experience with MATLAB and Python. Familiarity with 6DoF simulations. Knowledge of Fire Control Systems.
