Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer to lead and manage complex structural engineering projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a collaborative mindset to guide multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers. Key Responsibilities Lead structural design and analysis for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. Manage projects from concept through construction administration. Perform advanced calculations and modeling using tools like SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, and Revit. Review and stamp engineering drawings and specifications. Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and clients. Ensure compliance with local codes, standards (IBC, ACI, AISC), and safety regulations. Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance during construction. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training programs. Support business development through proposal writing and client presentations. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois; SE license preferred. 20-30 years of progressive experience in structural engineering. Proven track record of managing large-scale projects. Strong communication and leadership skills. Familiarity with Chicago building codes and permitting processes. Preferred Skills Experience with restoration, seismic retrofitting, and sustainable design. Knowledge of BIM workflows and integration. Client-facing experience and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
