Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Senior Subcontractor Technical Representative (STR) who will be responsible for technical oversight and performance management of maintenance service subcontractors supporting Savannah River National Laboratory facilities and infrastructure. This role ensures subcontracted work is executed safely, compliantly, on schedule, and in accordance with DOE requirements, laboratory standards, and contract scope. The STR serves as the primary technical liaison between the Laboratory and assigned subcontractors and plays a critical role in protecting mission continuity, safety, and asset reliability. Responsibilities Provide technical oversight of maintenance service subcontractors performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across laboratory facilities and utility systems. Monitor subcontractor performance against scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality requirements. Conduct field surveillance, work package reviews, and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with: DOE Orders and regulations Integrated Safety Management (ISM) principles Laboratory Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Maintenance programs Environmental, safety, and quality assurance requirements Review and validate subcontractor work plans, procedures, hazard analyses, and permits. Ensure proper implementation of work control processes, including lockout/tagout, confined space, energized work, and other high‑risk activities. Identify performance deficiencies and develop corrective action plans. Support invoice validation and verification of completed work. Coordinate with Facilities, Operations, Engineering, Safety, Security, Procurement, and Quality organizations. Participate in subcontractor pre‑bid walkdowns and technical evaluations. Maintain documentation of surveillance activities and contractor performance metrics. Support readiness reviews and audits involving maintenance subcontractors. Strong field presence and independent judgment Attention to detail and documentation rigor Ability to challenge and hold subcontractors accountable Risk identification and mitigation mindset Collaborative approach across multidisciplinary teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 10+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial operations, construction oversight, or subcontractor management. Demonstrated knowledge of both nuclear and industrial maintenance practices (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utilities, etc.), work control processes, safety management systems Experience overseeing subcontractor or contractor performance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation. Work Environment This position requires routine field oversight in active industrial and laboratory environments. Occasional off‑hours support may be required during outages, high‑risk evolutions, or emergent maintenance events. About Us "We put science to work!"
