Senior Technical Infrastructure Program ManagerAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The Data Center Field Engineering Team is the engineering owner for the lifecycle of AWS data centers. This includes supporting new designs/innovations through data center end-of-life, with a focus on root cause analysis of failures, capacity and availability improvement, and optimization of the existing fleet. We're looking for an experienced Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to join our Field Engineering team and lead the development of our Root Cause Analysis product and problem management business operations.In this role, you will define product strategy, own the roadmap, and drive execution of a platform that integrates multiple enterprise systems to achieve world class uptime for our customers. You will partner closely with multiple engineering disciplines including mechanical/electrical, reliability and quality, software, and data engineering teams as well as operations staff and project execution/delivery teams regularly. You will make strategic decisions regarding program priorities and overall direction. You will be capable of connecting long-term program vision with rapid growth patterns of AWS, translating Field Engineer pain points into technical requirements, and balancing immediate and long-term delivery needs.You must be adept at identifying and communicating upcoming risks, issues, and bottlenecks as well as be instrumental in resolving those issues, often cross multiple departmental boundaries to achieve your goal. You must possess a strong sense of organization, communication and team building skill-sets that foster robust working relationships for both internal and external stakeholders.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDefine and own product strategy and feature roadmap with contributions to bi-annual planning cyclesTranslate Field Engineer needs into technical requirements, functional specifications, and integration designs across platformsPartner with software development teams to evaluate technical proposals, assess architectural risks, and ensure scalability for global operationsPrepare narratives for executive leadership with recommendations which articulate decision points relative to cost, timing, and strategic trade-offs.Learn and understand the AWS data center lifecycle specific to Data Center Engineering, globally.Provide direct support to Field Engineers including trainings on new and existing processes.Interface with internal Field Engineering teams and their partners to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in work-products delivered. Standardize inputs/outputs globally.Create strong end-to-end team processes/mechanisms that include training (buy-in) and validation of success through metrics-based criteria.Manage global program ownership for processes and strategic initiatives that encompass all engineering disciplines.
