Senior Zscaler Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Consultant

Contract

Seeking a senior Zscaler Data Protection expert to lead the migration of enterprise DLP controls from Symantec DLP to Zscaler (ZIA + Zscaler DLP suite). This role owns end-to-end policy discovery, architecture design, migration execution, testing, and operational handoff across web, SaaS, and endpoint channels. Must be hands-on with Zscaler DLP, ZIA inspection, CASB/inline controls, and endpoint integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Migration Planning & Architecture

• Assess Symantec DLP policies, EDM/IDM identifiers, workflows, and integration points
• Design Zscaler DLP architecture aligned to ZIA, CASB, and Client Connector
• Develop phased cutover plans for web, SaaS, and endpoints
• Map Symantec classifiers/rules to Zscaler dictionaries, EDM/IDM, workflow logic

Implementation & Configuration

• Configure and deploy Zscaler DLP policies, inspection profiles, and workflows
• Integrate with M365, Google Workspace, Slack, Box, SIEM, SOAR, and ticketing systems
• Deploy/verify Zscaler Client Connector for endpoint DLP enforcement
• Validate classification accuracy, tune alerts, reduce false positives

Testing & Validation

• Lead functional/UAT cycles for each data channel
• Document test cases, outcomes, and cutover readiness reports

Knowledge Transfer & Documentation

• Build SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation
• Deliver hands-on technical enablement for security teams

• 6 8+ years in enterprise DLP / data protection
• Hands-on Zscaler DLP & ZIA experience (non-negotiable)
• Experience with Zscaler platform configuration (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)
• Experience migrating/modernizing from legacy DLP
• Strong regex/content inspection, EDM/IDM, policy design, and tuning skills
• Familiar with CASB and SaaS DLP APIs (M365 Purview, Google)
• SIEM/SOAR workflow integration (Splunk, Sentinel, etc.)
• Deep understanding of compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, GDPR)
• Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and client-facing consulting skills

Preferred Skills:

• Prior consulting experience with enterprise clients or Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs)
• Knowledge of SaaS integration patterns, cloud proxy architecture, and zero-trust data protection
• Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs for automating DLP configurations and reports

• Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP-IA / DLP)
