Seniorstaff Fullstack Engineer

JOB TITLE:

Seniorstaff Fullstack Engineer

JOB TYPE:

Full-time

JOB LOCATION:

Remote Remote United States

REMOTE:

Yes

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Air is a Creative Ops System for Marketers. Our product automates the mindless tasks that marketers do every day to manage content and unlocks creativity through image recognition, automated versioning, and approval workflows. We launched in March 2021 and have raised $38M+ from world-class venture capital groups including Tiger Global, Headline Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, WndrCo, and Slack Ventures.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Fullstack Engineer to join our team.

You’ll be joining an excellent and enthusiastic team of modern javascript engineers. You will work closely with our CTO and senior engineering team to execute on our technical roadmap. You’ll be expected to hit the ground running, working hands-on with our backend, frontend, and desktop codebases.

We work almost entirely in Typescript. Our web app is built in React, desktop app in Electron, and backend in Node. We’re built on AWS, so familiarity with their product suite is a major plus. 25% of Air’s users interact with our product every day, and you’ll be shipping features and improvements to them near-daily. You will build features, review code, write tests, maintain infrastructure, and help define a long-term architectural vision to keep us focused during rapid growth.

This role is for you if you thrive in fast-paced, unstructured environments that require you to wear many hats, think on your feet and you're excited about mentoring and growing junior members of the team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of backend experience working on large-scale distributed web applications
  • Experience collaborating with designers, developers, and product managers
  • Experience managing and maintaining production infrastructure
  • Capable of working on a stateful and event-driven client-side application
  • Familiar with API design and an API-first mindset
  • Comfortable with event-driven and service-oriented architectures
  • Experience driving complex architectural transformation from start to finish
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based services from AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
  • Experience leading projects while balancing both business and technical constraints
  • A strong background in some or all of the following:
    • Typescript
    • React, Redux
    • HTML/CSS
    • Next.js, Vercel
    • Node.js
    • AWS
    • Git, Github, CircleCI, Webpack

Benefits

Our company culture was built around a tireless pursuit to be the best at what we do. We're entrepreneurial and focused: tackling problems head-on without ego. We communicate with empathy. We speak directly, listen thoughtfully, and ask questions. We previously worked out of a cozy warehouse in Brooklyn, but are currently distributed around the globe. This is a remote role.

Air contributes 90% to medical, dental, and vision insurance and 75% to dependent coverage. Employees also have life insurance, disability insurance, and membership to One Medical. We offer a generous work from home stipend, professional development reimbursement, and unlimited vacation days. Although we are still early stage, we are always seeking ways to invest in the long-term health, wellness, and continued education of our employees.

At Air, we believe that it takes a diversity of thought, culture, race, sexual orientation, and outlook to build a world-class business. We value unique contributions and welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to join us at Air.

If based in the US, the compensation range for this role is USD $163,000 to $242,000.

If based in Canada, the compensation range for this role is CAD $183,886 to 271,000.
