Job Description
Overview

We are seeking a Service and Product Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the organization by distributing and delivering materials, supplies, and equipment, as well as loading/unloading and maintaining inventory. The position also includes cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand inventory control concepts and calculate par levels, adjusting as needed.
  • Coordinate the delivery of items arriving at the dock.
  • Assemble, apply/remove, tag, transmit, and log items into the computer system.
  • Receive, deliver, replenish, clean, and maintain supplies, equipment, linen, and forms in various areas, including patient rooms, inventory locations, and stat rooms.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure excess inventory in totes is documented, accounted for, and properly routed.
  • Perform gross decontamination, cleaning, rinsing, and routing of instruments and utensils.
  • Decontaminate and clean patient care equipment such as IV pumps, compression devices, syringe pumps, warmers, respiratory equipment, blood pressure monitors, walkers, commodes, orthopedic apparatus, and case carts.
  • Answer telephones and assist with requests as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least six months of materials management, medical supply handling, or a related field.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and follow through on tasks.
    • Proficient in using computers for supply and equipment requests, tracking, and reporting.
    • Physically capable of bending, reaching, standing, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
    • Quick learner who can follow directions and work independently.
  • Preferred: 1 3 years of healthcare-related experience or extensive knowledge of medical supplies and equipment through formal education or work experience.

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
