Service Manager – PrairieLand Partners, LLC Overview Partner with a joint venture of leading John Deere dealerships. The Service Manager oversees a high‑performance service department, ensuring customer satisfaction, profitable operations, and a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop, communicate, enforce, and monitor effective service processes to sustain internal and external customer satisfaction. Collaborate with regional and national leadership to set service department goals and budget, aligning with company financial and operational objectives. Recruit, hire, manage, and develop a service team that fosters teamwork, high productivity, and high morale. Design and execute employee development plans, providing timely evaluation, coaching, training, and development activities to increase performance. Coordinate customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events to enhance service visibility. Submit all service warranty and Product Improvement Program (PIP) claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit. Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge. Review work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to billing to the customer. Maintain all departmental tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order. Perform other duties as required to support AVE‑PLP success. Qualifications Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Three or more years of service department operations experience; management experience preferred. Knowledge of John Deere and competitive products. Strong communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performance team. Experience with financial principles related to service operations. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and on‑call responsibilities. Additional Requirements / Licenses / Certifications Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen required prior to the start of employment. Ability to work extended hours and weekends. Working Environment Regular travel to customer locations, meetings, warehouses, and store locations. Occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold) and exposure to insects. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. Noise level moderate; personal protective equipment required (cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, uniform). Long hours, overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings may be required. May be required to rotate on‑call responsibilities. Physical Activities Stand, sit, walk, and walk on uneven terrain; reach with arms and hands; good manual dexterity. Regularly required to talk and hear. Moderate physical activity required for moving and positioning objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
