Overall Responsibility
The Service Project Manager is responsible for driving service sales growth by developing new business, expanding existing customer accounts, and managing the execution of sold service projects. This role blends technical expertise, consultative selling, and project management to generate revenue through HVAC service, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance agreements. The Service Project Manager
serves as a trusted advisor to customers while ensuring profitable, high-quality service delivery.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Identify, develop, and close service sales opportunities, including repairs, retrofits, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance agreements.
- Conduct customer site visits to assess systems, uncover needs, and recommend cost-effective, value-added service solutions.
- Prepare, present, and negotiate service proposals and pricing, ensuring profitability and margin targets are met.
- Build and manage a pipeline of service opportunities; track leads, proposals, conversion rates, and revenue.
- Upsell and cross-sell service offerings to existing customers to increase account value and long-term retention.
- Partner with customers to create long-term service strategies that reduce downtime and improve system performance.
Project Management & Service Execution
- Coordinate scheduling of service work with the Technical Service Manager and Service Coordinator to ensure timely execution of sold projects.
- Oversee service installations, maintenance, and repair work to ensure scope, schedule, quality, and budget alignment.
- Act as the primary customer point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resolve customer concerns, change orders, and disputed invoices efficiently and professionally.
- Track job costs and service profitability; implement corrective actions as needed.
Vendor & Resource Coordination
- Works with Service Coordinator to manage chiller and pump rentals, including coordination, logistics, and billing.
- Works with Service Coordinator to purchase service-related equipment and materials.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure performance, safety, and quality standards are met.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical service and construction.
- HVAC and/or Process Water System experience required.
- Strong technical knowledge of process cooling water and air conditioning systems, including:
Pumps
Heat exchangers
Chillers
Cooling towers
Dry air coolers
Adiabatic coolers
- Experience or familiarity with plastic manufacturing processes and/or metal treatment processes highly desired.
- Proven ability to generate service sales, grow accounts, and meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CAD.

Position Structure and Compensation
- This position is Full-Time Salaried.
