Blow Molding Set-Up Technician - PSC392325
Pay: $20 - 35/hr + Benefits
Industry: Plastic Blow molding
Schedule: Full-time / O.T. Available
We are seeking a highly skilled Set-Up Technician to join a stable and well-established leader in the plastic blow molding industry. In this role, you will be responsible for executing machine changeovers, fine-tuning process parameters, and ensuring smooth transitions between production jobs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with extrusion blow molding equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a detail-oriented approach to setup documentation and quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complete machine changeovers, including mold swaps, blow pin adjustments, and tooling installation
- Set up and operate extrusion blow molding machines according to production specifications
- Adjust machine controls, heat settings, and parison programmers to achieve target cycle times and product dimensions
- Install and calibrate downstream equipment such as trimmers, leak testers, and flame treaters
- Collaborate with quality control personnel to verify part specifications and ensure setup accuracy
- Maintain and update setup sheets for future reference and process consistency
- Return all removed components and tools to designated storage after changeovers
- Support a clean, organized, and safety-focused production environment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in plastic processing or manufacturing, preferably in blow molding
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on familiarity with extrusion blow molding equipment
- Ability to interpret production specifications and adjust machine parameters accordingly
- Effective communication and documentation skills, with a collaborative mindset
- Demonstrated initiative and readiness to take on increased responsibility over time
