Overview:
The Metal Fabrication Plant Supervisor is responsible for leading the metal fabrication operations, ensuring production efficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and product quality. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Role: Metal Fabrication Plant Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and guide a team of skilled metal fabricators, welders, and machine operators.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and regular performance feedback to develop team capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Production Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to maintain productivity and meet deadlines.
• Quality Control:
  • Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Conduct regular inspections and promptly address quality issues.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety guidelines and conduct training to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards through regular inspections.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment, including welding machines and cutting tools.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Inventory Management:
  • Track raw material and finished goods inventory levels, ensuring availability to meet production needs.
  • Manage material ordering processes to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Cost Control:
  • Monitor labor and material costs, implementing cost-saving measures to improve profitability.
  • Analyze operations for opportunities to reduce waste and improve resource utilization.
• Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Resolve employee concerns and maintain a harmonious workplace.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and integrate new technologies and methods where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in welding, metallurgy, or manufacturing engineering preferred.
• Experience:
  • 10+ years in metal fabrication, including supervisory roles.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, CNC laser cutting, and fabrication processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Lean methodologies, performance metrics, and KPIs.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred).
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.
