Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to assess project requirements, interpret construction drawings, and calculate accurate costs for materials, labor, and overhead. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers and project teams to prepare bids for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects. You'll handle projects involving stairs, railings, carbon, stainless, and aluminum, with responsibilities that may expand as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed Quantity Take-Offs (QTO) for construction projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work and proposals for bids.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary project information.
  • Analyze construction drawings and project requirements to provide accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to determine material availability and pricing.
  • Participate in estimate review and reconciliation meetings to refine and finalize bids.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with AISC standards and relevant industry codes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address project needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience estimating structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of AISC standards and industry codes.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace or theme park construction projects.
  • Familiarity with Tekla EPM and Bluebeam/Revu software.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 8+ years of related work experience, including steel erection, may substitute for formal education.
