Check out our website for more information: joinEDSO.org The Selected Candidate Will Have The Opportunity To Receive, analyze and evaluate 911, emergency and business calls, and other public utility service calls; transfers calls to appropriate parties or creates a law enforcement call for service. Operate multi-channel radio systems, monitor other communication channels, while maintaining radio traffic on main channels. Respond to law enforcement-initiated radio traffic and relay information to law enforcement units. Operate computer equipment to access local, state and federal criminal justice information systems; operate communication systems to transmit and receive information with allied law enforcement agencies. Minimum Qualifications and Selection Considerations Sheriff’s Personnel Unit will assess your application to determine if you are minimally qualified. Any combination of the required experience, education, and training that would provide the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Sheriff's Public Safety Dispatcher II: Experience – Equivalent to graduation from high school; AND One (1) year of emergency dispatching experience at a level equivalent to the County’s class of Sheriff’s Public Safety Dispatcher I. Licenses and Certifications – A Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Professional Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate is desirable.
