As a Shift Lead at Las Vegas Petroleum, you will oversee the operation of the convenience store and ensure a seamless customer experience during your shift. This role involves leading the team, managing day-to-day activities, and upholding company standards for service and cleanliness. You will be responsible for training employees, handling inventory, managing cash transactions, and creating a positive atmosphere for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management: Supervise staff, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and adhere to company protocols.
- Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to customers and resolve any issues that arise during shifts.
- Training: Onboard and train new team members in store procedures and customer service practices.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock management and implement necessary orders.
- Cash Handling: Ensure proper cash management, including cash register operations and daily reconciliations.
- Compliance: Enforce safety and health standards to maintain a secure shopping environment.
- Team Communication: Liaise between staff and upper management, ensuring operational needs are communicated effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-2 years of experience in retail or customer service; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to solve problems and handle customer complaints effectively.
- Proficiency with cash registers and basic computer systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be capable of completing physical tasks, such as restocking shelves and organizing products.
