Action Staffing Solutions is seeking Shippers/Packers for one of our esteemed Government clients. The position involves providing on-site services from Monday to Friday, except for recognized US holidays or facility closures due to emergencies, administrative closings, or Government-directed facility/installation closings.

There are two shifts available:
1st shift: 6:30AM through 3:00PM
2nd shift: 3:30PM through 12:00 AM

The duties for this position include:

• Verifying the content of various stock items.
• Selecting the appropriate type and size of containers, inserting enclosures, using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage, and closing and sealing containers.
• Applying labels or entering identifying data on containers.
• Operating various packaging equipment.
• Reading computer screens and using scanning equipment.
• Responding to alarms and alerts.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Acting as a "runner" to deliver messages, documents, or items to different locations when needed.

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year of shipping and packaging experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff.
• Basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and working knowledge of MS Office.
• Fluency in English (reading, understanding, speaking, and writing).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and lift repetitively.
• Understanding of necessary precautions when handling hazardous medications, materials, and hazardous waste.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
