Shipping Packing Assistant Apply
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Packing Assistant to support our CNC machine shop operations. This role is responsible for accurately packing and shipping high-mix, low-volume precision parts to customers while ensuring quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, follows instructions carefully, counts accurately, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack CNC-machined parts accurately according to work instructions, customer requirements, and shipping specifications
- Prepare shipments for domestic and international customers, including proper labeling and documentation
- Verify part quantities, part numbers, and job travelers to ensure shipment accuracy
- Handle high-mix, low-volume products with care and attention to detail
- Coordinate with production, quality, and shipping teams to meet delivery schedules
- Maintain a clean and organized packing and shipping area
- Periodically drive a non-CDL company truck for local deliveries or pickups as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications & Skills
- High attention to detail and strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent counting accuracy and basic math skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple jobs at once
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, cooperative attitude
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (for non-CDL truck operation)
- Ability to lift and move packages as required (reasonable accommodations available)
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in shipping/packing, manufacturing, or a machine shop environment
- Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume production environments
- Experience handling precision or machined parts
Work Environment
- CNC machine shop and shipping/receiving areas
- May require standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift
