The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator assists with overseeing the daily operations of inbound and outbound materials to ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient handling of goods. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow by coordinating material deliveries, verifying documentation, maintaining inventory control, and organizing shipments for modular construction projects. The coordinator works closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to maintain accurate inventory and ensure the smooth movement of materials throughout the facility.

Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials, equipment, and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Identify and report damaged or incorrect shipments promptly.
  • Maintain accurate receiving documentation and update ERP or inventory management systems.

 Shipping Coordination

  • Prepare, package, and schedule outgoing shipments of materials and finished modules.
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and site teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Generate shipping documents, bills of lading, and tracking information.

  Inventory Control

  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
  • Organize and label materials in storage areas to ensure efficient retrieval.
  • Work with supply chain and procurement teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.

  Logistics & Communication

  • Communicate shipment schedules, delays, and issues to relevant departments.
  • Coordinate return shipments or material transfers between project sites or facilities.
  • Assist with logistics planning for large or complex modular deliveries.

  Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all shipping and receiving activities comply with company policies and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized dock and warehouse area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in material flow and logistics processes.

Requirements

·       Strong organizational and time management abilities.

·       Attention to detail with excellent documentation accuracy.

·       Effective communication and teamwork skills.

·       Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred).

·       Familiarity with OSHA regulations

·       Ability to operate a Forklift

Experience:

·       3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics (manufacturing or construction industry preferred).

·       Experience with ERP or inventory management software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or technical degree preferred.
