Shipping Clerk Job Description Location: ADC Hayesville – Hayesville, NC 28904 Shift: 1st shift Department: Shipping Reports To: Shipping Supervisor Position Summary The Shipping Clerk is responsible for supporting daily shipping operations, including preparing shipments, printing and verifying shipping labels, processing shipping notices, and completing required documentation. This role ensures shipments are accurate, properly labeled, and processed in accordance with company procedures. This position works under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor or designated management. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Prepare and process outgoing shipments in accordance with shipping schedules. Print, verify, and apply shipping labels, packing slips, and related shipping documentation. Assist with printing and processing shipping notices, bills of lading, and customer-required paperwork. Verify shipment contents for accuracy, completeness, and proper packaging. Determine proper placement and space requirements for FTL and LTL shipments. Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation. Follow all company policies, procedures, safety rules, and security requirements. Report unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly. Adapt to changing shipping demands and multitask as required. Use time efficiently while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards. Communicate effectively with shipping, production, and supervision. Complete all other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and move materials, and work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment involving forklifts, pallet jacks, moving equipment, and moderate noise levels.
