Role Synopsis This position is responsible for domestic and international shipping, receiving, and packaging of items and products. Essential Duties & responsibilities (includes, but not limited to the following) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed herein are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Package/ship items; attach identifying information and shipping instructions on packages for proper shipment. Receive items and packages. Verify received items versus bills of lading, invoices, orders, and/or other informational records to ensure accuracy. Record and report damaged items and/or shortages. Communicate information to proper personnel to rectify damages or shortages. Maintain product inventory accuracy and recordkeeping in company computer software systems. Enter updates as necessary. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies; order additional supplies as needed. Operate forklift or pallet mover to transfer items as needed. Maintain an orderly work area; ensure work area is clean, organized and meets company safety standards. Perform other work-related tasks, as assigned. One (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift certification. Experience Essential Working knowledge of personal computers and office machines. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Office. Basic knowledge of English language; read, write and speak. Basic math skills. Able to identify and solve problems, manage multiple priorities and multi-task. Ability to understand engineering drawings and use of inspection tooling. Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations Willingness to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime if required. Physical Demands The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation(s) may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical Dexterity required; ability to ascend/descend ladders; ability to stand, walk, bend, sit, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and move objects for 8 to 12 hours per day. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Speak/hear and use specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Capability of properly using standard office equipment including a computer with a keyboard. Ability to wear and utilize Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE). Required equipment includes steel toed shoes, safety glasses/goggles. Additional PPE may be required, e.g., safety harnesses, Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC), hard hats, or other as assigned. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
