Position Summary:
Level one shipping/receiving clerks work under direct supervision to complete basic shipping and receiving tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, verifying packaging slips and order contents, performing visual inspection, as well as packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods. Level one shipping clerks will demonstrate basic packaging skills such as part protection, verify packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc. All shipping and rec. clerks will be forklift certified, and may be expected to demonstrate computer skills. Typically, 1 year of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Builds boxes and places finished or in process components in protective packaging for preventing handling damage during transport
- Reviews documentation for accurate information and records in shipping
- Assists in loading or unloading product as needed
- Assists other depts/areas as needed

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of intermediate computer use. Applicant should be familiar with Microsoft Office.
