Pete's RV center is opening a new facility in Saco, Maine. We are looking for a working shop foreman to help diagnose and repair RV units as well provide guidance for our technicians. Pete's RV technicians are able to diagnose, inspect, adjust, repair, or overhaul recreational vehicles including travel trailers. May specialize in maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, or chassis/towing systems as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior components.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and oversight to the technicians and shop team.
  • Drive profitability through increased sales, gross profit, P&L management, and labor cost control
  • Assist the warranty department with training and performance to drive profitability
  • Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA etc.
  • Plan and facilitate weekly department meetings
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
  • Foster professional employee development and coordinates with department managers to determine need for advanced training
  • Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs RV systems.
  • Able to perform general repairs and services in all related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, etc. is a plus
  • Prioritizes work orders, handle urgent requests, and complete all assigned preventative maintenance/repair work and procedures
  • Helps to ensure all shop repair and maintenance policies, procedures, SOP’s, codes, regulations, etc. are followed and enforced including safety systems and standards

Requirements

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical knowledge and able to read wiring schematics
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and safety training classes, reviewing professional publications.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • On occasion, may be required to lift items weighing 50 to 100 pounds
  • Knowledge in carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must have own tools fit for many job types
  • Proficiency to navigate tablet-based technology
  • Strong organizational skills. Must maintain accurate, complete records of work done, work requested, and work in progress
  • A desire to work in a performance-based environment.
  • Maintain an Excellent CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) - a MUST!!

Monday - Friday (minimal Saturday availability)

Overtime is available!

Pay: $30+ based on experience

Eligible for a monthly work performance incentive

Technician Pay Scale:

$20- PDI/Service Technician Apprentice

$25- Service Technician, Level 1 RVTI Certified

$30- Service Technician, Level 2 RVTI Certified

$35- Service Technician. Level 3 RVTI Certified

$40- Service Technician, Level 4 RVTI Master Certified
