Starting base salary: $70-110K
Summary
The shop manager is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, overseeing production procedures, creating production schedules, and ensuring the highest quality product is produced in the department. Applicants should have previous expertise in a woodworking job shop, producing wood furniture, building cabinets, finishing carpentry, or performing a related type of precise wood manufacturing. Applicants must have knowledge of CNC woodworking machinery and be able to read shop drawings. Applicants must be highly motivated by themselves, adaptable, and resourceful. They also need to have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Spanish language fluency is a BIG BONUS!

Responsibilities
-Have expertise in CNC woodworking equipment to help with the specification and purchase of new equipment and to instruct staff on how to utilize it.
-Monitor quality and implement changes to guarantee that the product satisfies company requirements and customer expectations.
-Ensuring that all equipment, tools, and machinery are operated safely and effectively in the shop.
-Drive labor efficiencies in the department by training new or existing personnel.
-Have expertise in CNC woodworking equipment to help with the specification and purchase of new equipment and to instruct staff on how to utilize it.
-Monitor quality and implement changes to guarantee that the product satisfies company requirements and customer expectations.
-Ensuring that all equipment, tools, and machinery are operated safely and effectively in the shop.

-Create, put into effect, and uphold shop standards, policies, and safety regulations.
-Supervise and carry out shop tool and equipment maintenance and repairs.
-Establish a proper timetable and workload balance to meet customer ship dates
-Act as a mentor and leader in the wood shop.
-Support best practices by evaluating procedures

Requirements
-At least 8 years of experience in the field
-Awareness of Lean and continuous improvement techniques
-Working knowledge of specialized machinery for panel processing, such as computerized panel saws, CNC routers, edge-banders, and other tools.
-Experience overseeing, directing, and helping the safe operation of shop tools and equipment. -Deep working knowledge of techniques, materials, and hand and power tools used in woodworking.
-At least 8 years of experience in the field
