Team Red Dog is seeking a Silicon Validation Engineer 4 to support our industry-leading technology partner in delivering cutting-edge silicon validation for next-generation hardware programs. This is an exciting opportunity (Mountain View, CA) for engineers with strong post-silicon validation, hardware debugging, and automation experience to work hands-on in a lab environment driving real-world impact.
Top Required Skills (Must Haves):
- Post-silicon validation testing (5–7+ years) – executing validation plans, running regressions, and ensuring silicon readiness.
- Hardware debugging and PCB/socket troubleshooting (3–5+ years) – diagnosing issues across board-level and system environments.
- Silicon debug and failure analysis (1–3+ years) – identifying root causes across hardware, firmware, and system layers.
- Programming in Python, C, or C++ – supporting automation, log analysis, and test efficiency improvements.
Opportunity Overview:
This role sits at the forefront of silicon development, supporting critical validation efforts for new hardware as it arrives in the lab. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to execute validation strategies, analyze system behavior, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-performance silicon products. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, offering exposure to advanced CPU/GPU/APU technologies and real-world engineering challenges.
How you will make an impact:
• Execute silicon validation test plans and maintain system regressions
• Analyze test logs and summarize results with clear, actionable insights
• Perform first-level failure analysis and debug issues using lab tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system updates
• Automate test processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
• Support hardware bring-up activities as new silicon enters the lab
• Ensure testing aligns with schedules and validation milestones
The expertise you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 8–10 years of experience in silicon validation or hardware engineering
• Strong experience with Python, C, and/or C++
• Working knowledge of Verilog
• Hands-on experience in lab environments with hardware systems
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage test execution ownership
• Previous Microsoft experience preferred
