****Job Summary:****Drives a commercial truck equipped with auxiliary mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites. Operates a variety of heavy equipment, vehicles, and tooling utilized in plant production activities. Primary duties will be based in Aggregate Operations (Quarry and/or Sand/Gravel/Concrete) ****Main Responsibilities:***** Embrace the Companys safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams * Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives * Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly * Operate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, loaders, dozers, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and other mobile equipment used in Aggregate Operations * Operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks * Perform minor equipment maintenance tasks, including but not limited to as greasing and checking oil and fluids * Drive company vehicles to worksites and company locations when authorized * Perform Preventative Maintenance duties on crushing including but not limited to crushers, screens, conveyors, etc. * Maneuvers truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer * Slumps loads to specifications/requirements * Drives truck to location for unloading and ensures conditions at job site are safe * Interacts professionally with internal and external customers * Assembles chutes and attaches to truck; operates controls on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete * Performs daily a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and truck to assure a safe vehicle; documents any maintenance that may be required * Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening on mixer and on truck * Assists with the form/pour/strip of precast products * May spray surfaces of truck with protective/cleaning compound to prevent adhering of concrete * Assists work crews as required; assists with maintenance of plant and equipment ****Education/Experience:***** Class B CDL with Air Brakes and clean driving history * At least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred * Basic industrial truck maintenance experience preferred, but not required * Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in operation of heavy equipment operation preferred * Prior experience working with concrete production, construction, and/or related field preferred ****Skills:***** Ability to maintain a clean driving record and compliance with applicable FMCSA CDL driver requirements * Ability to work with multiple types of individuals and interact professionally with internal and external customers * Ability to read and write, and understand basic documents ****Physical Requirements***** Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required * Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance * Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects * Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) * Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl * Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain * Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods * Frequent exposure to loud noise * Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration * Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles * Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals * Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock ****Benefits and Perks:***** Choice of 3 Medical Plan Options * Prescription Drug Coverage * Dental and Vision Plans * Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Options * Access to Telemedicine and Healthcare Advocacy Services * Employee Assistance Program * Life and AD&D Insurance * Disability Insurance * Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays * 401(k) Savings Plan with Company Match * Product and Service Group Discount Programs The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
