Job Summary
The School of Nursing, in the College of Health, Science & Public Health at Eastern Washington University is currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for our full time Simulation Lab Assistant position.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and caring faculty and staff committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to excellence in serving the community.
The simulation lab assistant reports to the director of simulation. This individual has primary responsibility for coordinating instructional support activities in the Nursing Program. The position will assist faculty and clinical instructors who teach in the skills laboratory and simulation suites. The simulation lab assistant provides technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of equipment such as human patient simulators and their associated hardware, software, and audiovisual equipment. This position provides support in developing simulation demonstrations.

  • Bachelors Degree in allied health, technical education, or related field
  • Some experience in healthcare simulation (via internship or work-related training)
  • Organizational skills and the ability to follow directions
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities
  • Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years experience in healthcare simulation
  • Knowledge of patient simulation services, technologies, and applications
  • Strong computer skills, including use of MS Office, Google Suite, and Canvas or other learning management system
  • Experience in healthcare field
  • Previous experience operating human patient simulators (manikins)
