Site Coordinator for Before and After School Program (JobID: 1214) Position Type: Before and After School Programs / Site Coordinator / Head Teacher Location: New Fairfield Elementary School, New Fairfield, CT Full Time – Split Shift (onsite: 6:45‑9:00 am and 3:15‑6:00 pm, plus 1 hour off‑site planning per day) Mission EdAdvance exists to promote the success of school districts and their communities. It is redefining what a Regional Education Service Center can be using a systemic approach – grounded in the 3C's (Connection Culture, and Customization). Focused on local and regional priorities, the agency reinvests expertise, energy, and resources to amplify the benefit of its constituents. Job Description EdAdvance seeks a qualified applicant to work in the BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) at Newtown. The Site Coordinator works under the supervision of the BASES Administrative Team and must be professional, experienced with elementary school‑aged children, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be available during before‑school (6:45 am‑9:00 am) and after‑school (3:15 pm‑6:00 pm) hours. Major Responsibilities Supervise and organize daily operations of the before and after school program Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment Maintain positive relationships with families, children, and school personnel Know and follow Office of Early Childhood Child Care Center licensing regulations Maintain student registrations and paperwork Set up and clean up of program site Acquire First Aid/CPR/Meds Administration certification within 3 months of hire Perform other duties as assigned Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function Qualifications Requires at least 6 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field, or the ability to complete the OEC Head Teacher Certification Course (≈40 hours online) Experience working with school‑aged children Knowledge of child development Awareness of age‑appropriate curriculum activities Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Good supervisory skills Ability to maintain a positive work environment for staff and children Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for the entire shift and move through indoor and outdoor program space with students Application Procedure Applications should be submitted by visiting EdAdvance's employment page at and clicking the “APPLY” button next to the job posting of interest.
