Site Safety And Health Officer Apply
InfraHire is hiring Site Safety and Health Officer USACE Construction Project, Tampa, FL:
- Serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) construction project on an island near Tampa, Florida.
- Implement, enforce, and maintain all site safety and health programs in compliance with USACE EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Provide strong field presence and hands-on safety leadership throughout all phases of the construction project.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
- Lead safety meetings, trainings, and toolbox talks for all site personnel and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and communicate safety requirements and standards with project management, field staff, and subcontractors.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit all required safety reports and documentation, utilizing USACE safety reporting systems as needed.
- Respond to and investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring proper corrective actions are implemented.
- Foster a positive safety culture and promote continuous improvement in site health and safety practices.
- Maintain required certifications (EM 385-1-1, OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid) and pursue additional relevant certifications as needed.
- Preferred: Experience with island, waterfront, or marine-adjacent projects; familiarity with USACE safety reporting systems; CHST or CSP certification.
