Job Description
The objective of the Site Safety Manager is to ensure the efficient profitable management of the SMART customer's Safety Program. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter who has recent experience as the dedicated safety resource at a location. Ensures that all activities under the direct control of the Site Safety Manager meet the quality standards of the company and the Client. Experienced in managing and implementing all aspects of safety programs and training initiatives. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with a diverse employee team. Must be able to manage difficult or emotional employee situations and respond promptly to employee's needs. Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Essential Functions:
- Planning, coordinating, scheduling, and controlling the safety functions at assigned customer's jobsite to meet or exceed customer expectations for safety management under the direction of the client.
- Controlling productivity and safety audit accuracy on the site related to OSHA compliance.
- Controlling and reporting time spent on activities for each assigned activity on a continuing basis.
- Prepare him/herself with the proper mindset, company issued safety supplies and procedures prior to entering job site.
- Attending all company training and staff meetings as directed by the SMART Client.
- Ensuring that safety programs are followed and that all employees operate within sound safety standards
- Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, City and municipality laws and regulations.
- Monitor employees on the job site and coach/counsel when necessary.
Job Details:
- This job includes driving approximately 25% of the time to and from each client worksite. Employee may use their personal vehicle and receive milage reimbursement from SMART Safety. Company vehicles also available.
Requirements are one of the following:
- OSHA 30 training with 5 years safety experience
- OSHA 510 or 500 with at least 2 years' safety experience
Below qualifications are STRONGLY Preferred:
- 3 years' experience in Electric Power Distribution Construction (safety or otherwise).
