Site Safety ProfessionalMichelin has an immediate opening for a Safety Professional who will provide support and direction to meet the site's safety, health, and environment objectives. This role is critical in crafting and maintaining a safe environment for our employees and communities. Located in Woodburn, Indiana, our BF Goodrich tire plant produces passenger and light truck tires, contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of northeastern Indiana. If respect for people, teamwork, and trust are values you live by, you should consider joining us!What Will You DoResponds to and coordinates all emergency responses in the plantProvides mentorship and direction to Contract Security Services and the Emergency Response TeamAssists departments in investigating incidents to determine causes and devise preventative measures to minimize recurrence. Assists in preparing incident reports when neededAssists in developing and reviewing safety training programs and provides training when requestedMonitors overall safety of plant operations, including contractors, and provides advice and assistance to line managementMonitors weather and provides information to plant management on any situation that may affect plant safety or operationsMonitors and corrects contractor activities to ensure compliance with all safety programs and regulationsCoordinates hot work and confined space programsMonitors all aspects of the fire system, including the alarm system, to ensure it is maintained in working orderPerforms audiometric testing, vision screening, and respirator fit testing as requestedWhat Will You BringA willingness to work in an industrial plant environment on a rotating 2-2-3, 12-hour shiftHS diploma or equivalent experience; an Associate's degree in Safety or Emergency Medical Procedures is preferredFirst Aid/CPR or EMR certification required; must complete EMT certification within the first 12 months on the jobSelf-motivated with the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlinesCooperative teammate who willingly supports others and collaborates to solve problemsAbility to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationWhy Michelin?At Michelin, we believe in providing an environment where our employees can thrive.
