Hours: 36 Hours/Week (48 Hours May Be Considered)
Additional Requirements: Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, and Call-Back Coverage as Needed

Position Summary

Seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Technician (Psych Tech) to provide direct patient care and support services for inpatient psychiatric patients. The Psych Tech will work closely with Registered Nurses and the multidisciplinary treatment team to assist patients with daily living activities, psychiatric rehabilitation, therapeutic interventions, and overall patient safety. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to effectively manage patients in a behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to inpatient psychiatric patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care needs.
  • Observe, monitor, and report changes in patient behavior, mood, or condition to the RN.
  • Support social, emotional, and psychiatric rehabilitation activities.
  • Participate in patient rounds, therapeutic groups, and treatment-related activities.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while promoting patient dignity and recovery.
  • Document observations and patient interactions accurately and timely.
  • Ensure patients have access to required services and resources.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and behavioral health team members to support treatment goals.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Psychiatric Technician experience.
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA).
  • Associate's Degree (AAS) in Psychology or Sociology.
  • Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification with required hands-on training.
  • CPI Blue Card preferred.
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric patient care, safety protocols, and behavioral health practices.
