It is your shared space to customize and express whats on your mind and share content and experiences in the moment together on any device, anytime, anywhere.The Messenger social team at Meta is seeking a Social Manager to develop and execute the social strategy within the newly formed Content Studio at Meta. This role will be responsible for leading strategic development and execution of social content across all of Messengers social platforms. In 2024, Messenger will be leaning heavily on a creator-first social approach so experience in working with, briefing, and developing content in collaboration with creators is critical. Ideally, were also looking for someone who has experience in creating product or feature-related social content for tech brands with a focus on audiences who crave the latest trends. This role will work with multiple cross-functional teams within the organization, and will partner very closely with product design and product marketing to develop content that sparks conversation. If you live and breathe social media, can rattle off the names of the top latest creators at the drop of a hat and have a passion for bringing people closer together through conversation (on Messenger, of course!) then this role might be for you.


Social Manager, Messenger Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the execution of the social strategy and creator program for Messenger
  • Ensure all social content is aligned to Messengers social strategy and best in class social campaigns, delivering creative and culturally impactful content and initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Product Design to ensure our social channels are providing timely and relevant product updates and education to consumers
  • Manage the editorial calendar for Messenger Broadcast Channels and publish all approved content to Messenger social channels
  • Lead community management and moderation in partnership with moderation agency
  • Become an expert in understanding what works for Messenger users and its community, making sure that the content we develop has the greatest impact and resonance, and being the voice of our social audience when developing strategies and plans
  • Analysis of cultural, community, media and market trends to inform strategic and creative development for content.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of social and content experience for global brands
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or related field
  • An understanding and appreciation of the latest social media trends and insights
  • Experience working with consumer-facing brands that have large (1M+) followings on social platforms
  • Experience collaborating within dynamic and matrixed organizations and experience partnering with product teams on how to bring feature awareness and education to social platforms
  • Experience developing creator-led content programs (briefing creators, and working with them throughout the content creation process)



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in social listening, building social performance recaps and community management
  • Experience with crisis management and crisis response
  • Creative, content or social agency experience
